A broken heart occurs because of so many factors, it can be due to losing a loved one , failing a big test, or the most common being hurt by people maybe by their actions or words .

It is not easy , that we know for sure . We know that if we try to use the wrong tools to mend and fix that broken heart surely we will fail. We tend heal our hearts with music, meditation , sports , exercise , trying to find some life advice on how to deal with the situation and to an extent one resorts to sins because they feel it might help them get over the heartbreak.

A heartbreak can cause a lot of damage to you. You can end having mental breakdowns, anxiety attacks, depression , loss of appetite , drastic weight loss and the list goes on. With these examples we can see that a heartbreak does not only affect you emotionally but also physically. Both of these aspects in turn breaks down the human being piece by piece .

We then have to ask ourselves “how do we as Muslims deal with a heartbreak ? ” . What are our tools , our methods of understanding the situation , of picking ourselves back up and understanding what is our next step to getting back to a hundred percent emotionally and physically.

We first start off small. We start building our connection to our obligatory acts such as the Salaah. Once our hearts find peace in the Salaah we add our sunnah salaah this way the heart itself is attached to the obligations the Creator has given and to the acts the Prophet(S.A.W) has done.

We then start connecting to our Holy Quran . This is where the motivation and easing of he heart comes in. The verses this Holy Book contains is enough to give you that boost to start healing. When the heart listens and accepts the words that the Lord has sent it will surely feel at ease . There is no doubt that these words helps mend the heart .

Then lastly , to maintain the rebuilding and strengthening of the heart we add in dhikr. We need to remember our Lord in the most depressing times as well as the most happiest of times. The remembrance keeps the heart at ease because it reminds the soul that there’s a Creator that can help through this situation and if there is constant remembrance of the Creator , the Creator will surely help one through the heartbreak.
